I want this future to happen: neighbourhoods, villages and eventually cities that sustain themselves, built from natural materials, more beautiful and healthier than what we build today. And precisely because I want it so badly, I run the numbers. SolarPunkLab is a living simulation of such a community, on real weather years, with labelled assumptions and numbers open to attack. In the lab log you can read, structure by structure, what works, what does not, and what it costs. The dream first, the measuring rule beneath it.
