0:000Every marketing advice works and that's a big problem because not every marketing advice works for you. Listen to this. There are several marketing gurus and they teach different kind of things and they all work. So if you watch them on a video or you read about it, you are like yes, probably that's working. The data shows it, it's working, so it must work for me as well.
0:320That's not the case. The problem is marketing always starts with the how, not with the who. And you, as a person, you have to think who am I and what is my business about? What is the identity of me and my business? And that's the starting point.
0:520And after that you think about, okay, kind of marketing suits me and my potential customer. That's the most important thing to ask yourself. Watch this. Daniel Priestley. Great.
1:100Great marketing. Yeah. He's like the teacher. And he tells you, okay, don't be available for every one all the time. Make yourself more high end behind the waiting list.
1:280That's what Daniel Priestley says. But if you listen to Gary V, he's like the cheerleader. He's like, Okay, be everywhere, all the time, be available. So what's the truth? It depends on who you are.
1:440What's your identity? What's the identity of your business. Because they both can work. You have to go all in on one of them because you cannot be everywhere available and not available to everyone. That's not possible.
2:020It's not working. Alex Remosi, he's more like the drill instructor. He says, look at the data. The data says this, so this will work. And that's correct, but it's different again.
2:180So I always tell people don't follow too much people, don't follow too too many different kind of people, because if you follow these three, Gary V, Alex Romosi and Daniel Priestley, and you implement one thing of each of them, you're stuck. You have created the biggest problem for yourself because it's not coming from your identity, you just are cherry picking things that work for those people. It's also like the marketing coaching schemes. Okay, the marketing coach tells you how to do marketing and is teaching you how to help other marketers how to do their marketing. So it's like the pyramid scheme.
3:110It's not really a scheme because there's real money involved and it's working, but it's just giving your frameworks to another guy or or a woman and he or she is going to replicate it and the results will be similar, but a little bit less. And near the bottom it's less. You will go bankrupt. So the path to bankruptcy is follow three different kind of gurus and mix all the how to's. No, you just have to figure out for yourself, okay, who am I as a person?
3:520How do people perceive me as a person? That's even more important, because other people have more honest truth on who you are than you yourself have. Not always, but most of the time, yes, they don't have your own blind spots. It's just like that. So, you just have to think about, okay, who am I?
4:170What's the identity of me? What's my identity and my business identity? And from there on you are thinking, okay, what kind of marketing can I do? And if Daniel Priestley suits you, okay, go all in on his way. If my way suits you, go all in on my way.
4:350If Alex Romosi suits you, go all in on his way. Everything is okay, but it just has to match you on who you are. Because if you are not a Daniel Priestley guy, you are going to do marketing like Daniel Priestley, you almost get bored out of burnout. Really, because you are doing things that's not really for you. If you are going to do things like MrBeast is doing, while you are more like a Daniel Priestly kind of guy, it's not going to work.
5:150You have to figure this out at first and then you can do marketing for yourself in a more relaxed way as well, because it's who you are. So, if you are energetic, be energetic. If you are calm, be calm. If you are both, be both, but use the how to's that suit you. It's just like this.
5:390It's an easy, unconvenient truth maybe, because maybe you have followed a lot of rules and frameworks and practices and you are like, yeah, but I had passion for it and I went for it and I did go for it, but it didn't work for me, yeah, then you have to take a real good look in the mirror and ask yourself, okay, what kind of marketing is suited for me and my business? And that's just a new starting point for you. It's great. Start all over and notice what this does, because I believe when you think about it and you feel this, you understand this is the right thing for you to do right now and then you will understand when you're starting doing marketing that's suited for you, that's connected to your identity, to your business identity, that it's way more easy to get the right clients, because suddenly the right clients, the potential clients, your customers will come to you because they feel your identity is authentic all the way. From marketing, from sales to delivery and after sales.
